Disability Access and Inclusion Plan

DISABILITY ACCESS and INCLUSION PLAN (DAIP) 2026-2030

What is the DAIP?

Under the Disability Inclusion Act 2018 (SA), State authorities are required to develop their own Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs) to facilitate a community that is more accessible for, and inclusive of people living with disability. The plan intends to provide opportunities to help people living with disability both within the community, and those who visit the area, to contribute and feel welcome, have access to services, and participate in everyday activities.

Our Commitment

The Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026–2030 adopted by Council outlines the actions we will take over the next four years to create a more accessible and inclusive community.

Our goal is to create a community where people living with disability, including residents, visitors, Council employees and volunteers, feel welcomed, valued, included and empowered to participate fully in all aspects of community life.

We are committed to improving access to our natural environments, facilities, events, information and services, while creating opportunities for people to contribute through learning, volunteering, employment, and participation in Council decision making.

The Plan was considered and adopted by Council at the meeting held 30 June 2026.

Thank You

We would also like to thank those of you who took the time to complete our community survey, attend one of our drop-in consultation sessions, or share their experiences and ideas throughout the consultation period.

Your feedback has been invaluable in helping us better understand the barriers people face, the opportunities for improvement, and the priorities that matter most to our community.

The insights and lived experiences shared have directly informed the development of our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.

We sincerely appreciate your time, honesty and willingness to contribute.
