The District Council of Elliston recognises the significant contribution that street trees make in providing practical and aesthetic benefits to communities.
Under the Local Government Act 1999, Council has an obligation to ensure the correct management of street trees.
Trees can add to the beauty of our towns, but trees that are planted too near power lines, footpaths or underground services can create a wide range of hazards.
The following policy is a set of guidelines to be adhered to when residents make request for removal, planting or pruning of street trees and when assessments are made by Council Officers.
