Elliston Township Water Supply

District Council of Elliston has recently become aware of significant long-term sustainability issues regarding the ongoing water supply to the Township of Elliston.

As residents of Elliston are aware, the town relies on water supplied from the Bramfield Basin, and is not connected to the other water supplies available to the majority of the Eyre Peninsula.

Below average rainfall over many years has resulted in poor rainfall recharge, with current levels within the Bramfield Basin approaching record low levels.

To ensure information is made readily available to all residents, a Community Information Session will be held on Tuesday, 3 October 2023 at 6:30pm at the Elliston Sports Centre.

Council has also established a Committee to ensure a structured and well-managed response to this issue.

The Committee will consist of representatives from EP Landscapes Board, SA Water, Department of Environment and Water, a water license holder, a land holder, a Wirangu Nauo Aboriginal Corporation member and a community member.

If you wish to nominate to be a part of this Committee, please contact Nikki Becker, CEO via email at nbecker@elliston.sa.gov.au by 5pm, 6 October 2023, alternatively, nomination forms are available here or will be available at the Community Information Session.
