Elliston Aerodrome – Temporary Closure Notice
The District Council of Elliston advises that the Elliston Aerodrome will be temporarily closed to facilitate essential runway resealing works.
Closure Details
- Dates: Tuesday 7 April to Thursday 9 April 2026
- Location: Elliston Aerodrome
- Closure Type: Full aerodrome closure during daytime work periods (excluding emergency services)
The works involve the application of a new spray seal surface to the runway, taxiway and apron to improve safety, durability and long-term performance of the facility.
Operational Arrangements
- The aerodrome will be closed during active construction periods
- The aerodrome will be reopened outside of working hours, subject to safety inspections and confirmation of serviceability
- Temporary markings may be in place during the curing period following works
All pilots and operators are requested to:
- Check NOTAMs and relevant aviation advisories prior to travel
- Avoid the aerodrome during the notified closure periods
- Exercise caution following reopening due to new surface conditions
Emergency Access
Arrangements will be in place to support emergency aircraft operations (including RFDS) where required. These will be managed in coordination with onsite works personnel.
