Community Engagement Policy

The District Council of Elliston has adopted its updated Community Engagement Policy, reinforcing Council's commitment to open, transparent, and meaningful engagement with our community. The policy has been updated to align with recent changes to the Local Government Act 1999 and the South Australian Community Engagement Charter.

The policy outlines how Council will engage with the community when consultation is required, ensuring residents, businesses, property owners, visitors and other stakeholders have appropriate opportunities to participate in decisions that may affect them. It also sets out the minimum engagement requirements for different types of Council decisions and explains how community feedback will be considered as part of Council's decision-making process.

The adoption of the policy follows a period of public consultation and reflects Council's ongoing commitment to keeping the community informed and providing meaningful opportunities to have a say on matters that shape the future of the district.

The Community Engagement Policy is available to view online here or at the Council Office.
