- Public Notice
2026–2027 Fire Danger Season
The 2026–27 Fire Danger Season has officially commenced for the West Coast Fire Ban District, running from 15 October 2026 to 15 April 2027.
The District Council of Elliston reminds residents, property owners and visitors to be aware of fire restrictions, permit requirements and the importance of maintaining fire-safe properties throughout the season.
Fire Permits and Restrictions
Fire Permits are required for most burning activities during the Fire Danger Season, unless an exemption applies. Restrictions also apply to campfires, outdoor cooking and equipment that may produce sparks.
Fire Permits are not valid for burning on Total Fire Ban days under ordinary permit conditions. Always check current CFS restrictions before undertaking any burning activities.
Apply for a Fire Permit
If you intend to undertake burning activities, you can submit a Fire Permit application using Council's online form.
For enquiries or assistance with your application, contact Council on 08 8687 9177.
Keep Your Property Fire Ready
Residents and property owners are encouraged to keep grass short, vegetation maintained and flammable materials cleared to help reduce fire risks across the district.
