SA Ambulance - Elliston Team is in need of new recruits!
Due to a number of members moving out of the region in the coming year the Elliston Team is in need of more local people to take the step towards becoming an operational volunteer. If an ambulance crew is not available locally for an incident then it would be dispatched from the next closest team at Port Kenny or Cummins.
The Elliston team attend approximately 90 incidents per annum and the majority of these are RFDS transfers from the hospital to the Elliston Airfield. Previous experience or medical training is not necessary as necessary training will be provided. Training can be set at a pace to suit the person, with volunteers able to drive an ambulance and to support an officer with just seven training days.
The Elliston Team is looking for local people to support the community Team to ensure a sustainable service to the Elliston area can be provided. Volunteers do not need to be on call 24/7, a roster can be prepared around peoples availability. Volunteers do not need to stay on the station as they can respond from home or work.
The website for further information is http://www.saambulance.com.au/Volunteering.aspx
or interested persons can contact Volunteer Team Leader - Tim Wilson on 0429846945.
The Elliston team train weekly on a Thursday evening from 7:30pm to 9:30pm during the school term.
Any assistance you would be able to provide would be appreciated.
