Venus Bay

Venus Bay is named after the 2-masted schooner Venus that traded around the Eyre Peninsula in the 1850's.

Venus Bay is the home to a unique curved Jetty which is utilised by commercial fishermen and is lit up at night for the keen angler.

The boat ramp is located to the west of the jetty and has a fishing cleaning bay at the top of the car park.

The bay and jetty offer the chance to catch various seafood such as King George Whiting, Tommy Ruff, Salmon, Mullet, Flathead, Squid, Garfish, Snook, Sweep, Trevally and Flounder.

South Head Walking Trail and Needle Eye Lookout

Loops around the cliff tops to the west of the Township, with views of the entrance of the bay and the cliffs to the North. On clear days, you may be able to see dolphins, Australia Sea Lions and Sea Eagles and from May - October Southern Right Whales pass through in the Great Australian Bight.

To the South of the township is the Needle Eye Look Out
